What to Expect

A great mornings walk just outside of Sheffield in the historic villages of Low and High Bradfield. The views are breathtaking and the walks to the reservoris are peaceful and full of autum colour. We visit the site of one of the worst civilian disastors in British History at Dale Dyke Reservoir, hard to imagine in this now pretty area brimming with bird life. It being a Sunday we recommend booking a dog friendly table at The Bradfield Plough or Old Horn Inn for their famous Roast Dinners!

Other than a few stiles and a bit of a steep descent in one area this is fairly easy Peak District Walking. There are some ups and downs but its all relatively easy to manage. Some hills but nothing too strenuous, open wide tracks, easy footpaths through fields and some quiet lane walking. There is some woodland walking which means exposed roots to be aware of. The end of the walk is along a quiet lane, there is very rarely traffic but it can get narrow with tractors. There will be livestock throughout.
