All our participants are required to bring their own essential equipment for themselves and their dogs. Unfortunately we do not provide spares, food or drink. Please find what you need to bring along below. We will also attach an detailed list with booking confirmation.
We carry a group shelter, survival bag, full group first aid and whistle for the group.
Essential Kit List
Well worn in walking boots or shoes, we don't recommend trainers.
Rucksack, comfortable straps, preferably with waist and chest straps. Enough space to add any removed layers as well as other kit. Waterproof liner or liners for contents.
Comfortable walking clothing, plenty of layers along with a spare fleece just in case. Please no jeans.
A breathable, waterproof coat and walking trousers if possible.
Hat and gloves.
Headtorch or small, light torch with working batteries.
Sunscreen, sunglasses and sun hat or cap in hot, sunny weather
Food. A filling lunch (we will be walking all day) plenty of high energy snacks.
Water. 1.5 to 2.5 liters of water. No alcohol is permitted on our walks.
Personal First Aid kit e.g. plasters, blister plasters, painkillers, anti - histamine etc. (we carry a group first aid kit to use in emergencies, we can not give out medications)
Personal medication e.g inhalers, insulin etc.
Essential Dog Kit List
Food - any snacks or treats for a little boost of energy and reward.
Water- Dogs need 50ml and 100ml per day, per kg. Generally our walks are up to 8 hours, it depends on the size, age, fur and energy levels of your dog. Packable bowl.
A warm layer if cold or spare one in rucksack.
Normal leads only, no retractable leads allowed.
Poo bags and a way to carry waste through out walk.
Recommended Kit List
These recommended items are not necessary but will add to your overall experience of the day. Please bare in mind that if you aren't used to carrying a heavy pack it would do well to only take what you think you need of the items on this list.
Walking Poles.
A lightweight sit mat.
Gaiters.
Midge or insect repellent.
Survival Bag.
Cash or card in case we visit a cafe, pub or ice cream van.
Mobile Phone and camera.
Battery Pack.
Toilet tissue and bags to remove tissue from the hills.
