What to Expect
A relaxed wander out onto Burbage Moor, offering big views with very little effort. Classic Peak District moorland stretches out ahead, with wide open skies, gritstone edges and sweeping scenery. From the higher ground, you’ll get stunning views deep into the Peak and out across Sheffield, making this an easy walk for those just starting out or experienced walkers wanting a relaxed day.
It is an easy going walk without much incline. We start off in a woodland so there will be exposed routes underfoot. We are up on gritstone so not slippy even when wet but the rocks are uneven underfoot. We walk along a cliff edge for a couple of miles with steep drops. The last bit of the walk is along a bridletrack which can get busy with cyclists, horses and even dirt bikes. Though not so much on a weekday. There is a possibility of sheep on this route and deer are often sighted.
