What to Expect
Join us for a classic May ramble through the Staffordshire Moorlands, starting from the shimmering shores of Tittesworth Water and climbing steadily up to The Gun. As part of the Staffordshire Moorlands Walking Festival, this walk takes in one of our favourite Ethels, with big views and a real sense of achievement at the summit. We’ll mark a job well done before heading back for a well-earned café finish, because every good hill walk deserves cake and a cuppa.
We do have to start the walk along the road for about half a km before we can hit the public footpaths. It's a mixture of farmed fields and Peak District Moorland. There will be livestock around and on Gun Moor it is a protected area ran by the Staffordshire Wildlife Trust. It will be wet and muddy. The incline is nice and steady made without much effort. There is some quiet road walking near the end of the walk.
