What to Expect
This charming walk begins in the village of Waterhouses and meanders through the picturesque hamlet of Waterfall to Grindon, offering peaceful countryside views throughout. The return follows the River Hamps, hopefully still flowing at this time of year, adding a touch of adventure to this tranquil Peak District route.
The first half of this walk is field walking uphill. It can be muddy and livestock will be in the fields. We will be passing through a couple of small villages and hamlets. We do have a short stint on a busy road at the start and end of the walk. The second half is along a well used cycle track so be aware of cyclists. There are a lot of tight squeeze stiles on this walk so need to be able to fit through or have the strength to lift yourself over and through a wider point.
