What to Expect
Starting in Buxton, this rewarding walk climbs to Solomon’s Temple for sweeping views before heading into the quieter reaches of the Goyt Valley. Along the way you bag two Ethels, Grin Low and Burbage Edge, combining limestone hills, open moorland and classic Peak District edge scenery in one compact circuit.
We start in a country park on well walked paths before heading out into the moorland above Buxton. There is a little road walking with a busy one to cross near the start. The moors feel wild and remote but we never too far from Buxton. The ground will be uneven and possibly boggy in places. It's nesting season for ground nesting birds so dogs will need to be on a short lead. Livestock is few and far between. There may be some cows coming back into Buxton but they are used to people with dogs.
