What to Expect
A brilliant walk along the iconic Stanage Edge and Higger Tor, bagging four Ethels along the way. With the heather hopefully in full colour, it should be a stunning time to be out on the edges with big views across the Dark Peak. The route is a bit of an in-and-out adventure, but we’ll mix things up where we can to keep it interesting. A great day out on some of the Peak District’s most famous gritstone edges.
We are already start high so we don't have much incline to deal with on this walk. The ground underfoot is going to be very uneven and rocky with some big steps up and down in some parts. Depending on previous weather there may be some areas that are wet and boggy. We'll be exposed to all weathers on the tops. There is often a breeze or wind on the edge. This is a busy route so expect plenty of people, dogs and bikes!
