What to Expect

Join us for a very dog-friendly walk. Starting out from the quaint but bustling village Crich we take in the surrounding countryside with a walk to Wingfield Manor, now a ruin but once a great house connected to Bess of Hardwick and Mary Queen of Scots. We take the high route back with plenty of views before a quick stint by the Cromford Canal. 

These is a relatively moderate walk with some up and downs, Crich is based on top of a high so once we come off it we will have to come back up! The walk is mainly over open fields with public footpaths. There is a little bit of quiet lane walking and a few roads to cross. There will be some livestock in the fields with a couple of fields near the end with friendly horses. There is one boggy section over a spring which I am hoping will be quite dry after this drought! We can avoid the horses if anyone has a fear but this does mean walking on a road, that though generally quiet, can have the odd person driving quit fast.
