What to Expect
A rewarding walk starting from Tittesworth Water, heading onto open moorland to bag the Ethel on Gun. The route offers excellent views across The Roaches and stretching out towards the Welsh Border. This walk marks our first official Ethel Bagging Walk of the year (it's also a Marilyn), raising money for CPRE South Yorkshire and supporting the protection of our countryside.
We do have to start the walk along the road for about half a km before we can hit the public footpaths. It's a mixture of farmed fields and Peak District Moorland. There will be livestock around and on Gun Moor it is a protected area ran by the Staffordshire Wildlife Trust. It will be wet and muddy. The incline is nice and steady made without much effort. There is some quiet road walking near the end of the walk.
