What to Expect
A walk from Hope to Win Hill offers a rewarding challenge, with steep ascents that lead to panoramic views on a clear day. It's a perfect leg-stretcher, pushing your limits while treating you to stunning vistas. The return journey is a gentler stroll, passing the fascinating remains of the Navio Roman Fort. Finish your adventure back in Hope, where you can unwind with a refreshing coffee or beer.
We have some road walking through the village and a couple of busy roads to cross later on. We follow well walked footpaths and bridle tracks. The going up Win Hill is known for being steep. We'll go slow and steady. The last little jaunt to the top is rocky and very uneven underfoot. It's not difficult but can feel exposed. The way down is steep initially, poles are recommended if not confident. The route down is nice and steady. It can get muddy and slippy once we are off the hills and in the lower fields. There will be livestock throughout.
