What to Expect
This delightful short walk from Tideswell explores the rolling hills above the village, offering lovely views across the surrounding dales. The route drops gently into Millers Dale and Tideswell Dale, following peaceful paths beside the river before returning to the village. Finish your walk with a relaxing lunch in one of Tideswell’s cafés or pubs, and take time to visit the impressive Cathedral of the Peak.
This is one of our steadier Peak District walks though there are still hills involved! We mostly have open bridle tracks with a little field walking at the start. These will still be uneven with mud and slippy limestone if wet. The second half of the walk is on gravelled cycle ways. We do need to cross a couple of roads. There may be livestock along this walk but we are often on tracks separated from them. We need to be aware of cyclists along Millers Dale. The bottom of the dales can be quite chilly, even on a sunny day so wrap up warm!
