What to Expect
Starting in the quiet village of Dale Abbey, this walk follows peaceful countryside paths across fields and woodland towards the beautiful parkland of Locko Park. Along the way, the route offers a gentle and varied stroll through open farmland and tree-lined tracks, with plenty of space to enjoy the rural scenery. A welcome highlight is a stop at The Stables Café, a perfect place to pause for a drink or bite to eat before continuing through the parkland. From there, the walk loops back towards Dale Abbey, making for a relaxed countryside route with a rewarding café break along the way.
This is a relaxing walk with some small steady hills. We will be mostly on open tracks through parkland. We will have to a busy road twice with care. There may be livestock along the route. Though we do walk along private parkland there is occasional cars driving through. There could be horses and bikes on route.
