What to Expect
This is a perfect walk for those wanting to keep cool in the summer months. We start in the cooler morning up on the hills to take in the beauty of the White Peak. When things start heating up we drop down to the lovely River Wye with plenty of foliage to keep us shaded and the dogs cool. We follow the river back to our start with plenty of stops along the way.
We have a few inclines along this walk in and out of the dales, reaching stunning high point. This is mainly dale and field walking so livestock to be expected. We visit the Chee Dale stepping stones which can be slippy when wet. The path next to the river is wide and gravely. It is used by cyclists so keep dogs under control. Be aware of uneven ground and slips near the waters edge. We pass through a disused rail tunnel. Bring plenty of water for you and your dog. As always bring all kit needed to tackle the unpredictable British weather.
