What to Expect
Stunning views galore reward those that take this extended visit to Stanage Edge. It's wild and dramatic along the tops and below, the fields green and woods full of bluebells. With a finish to Colemans Deli in Hatherage this could very well be the perfect Peak District walk.
We have to naviagte out of the town before heading upwards on open access land. Once on Stanage Edge the walk flattens though the ground is very uneven with rocks and can get wet. We can be quite exposed along the top so be aware that it might be still and warm in town it could be blowing a freezing gale up there. It's a nice stroll back through woods, open fields and farmers tracks. There is alot of sheep along this route so be aware of your dog on a close lead. It can also get busy on Stanage with walkers, climbers and mountain bikers.
