What to Expect
This is a beautiful walk right up on to the moors along the stunning Derwent Edge. Views over Ladybower and upward to Upper Derwent are seen the whole way. To our right we have expansive moors all the way to Sheffield with the ever lurking Kinder Scout and Bleaklow on our left.
There is a small amount of pavement walking along a busy road to get us to and from the moor. Once on Open Access we have a steady undulated incline. There is a short, sharp, steep bit of hill and then we are up on the moors heading north. The path is obvious and a lot is paved. There is a little up and down as we walk along the edge but nothing too arduous. Coming off the hill is steady with a section some what steeper and a little uneven underfoot. Back at Ladybower we head along a rarely used road back to the main road and car park.
